Fayetteville Guard Youth Football ​History

The Guard Camp has existed since its inception in the spring of 2007.  The founding coaches were Michael Herman Sr. and Adrian Williams.  Originally a cornerstone team within the Arena Indoor Football 4 Kids (AIF4Kids) league.  Due to circumstances out of the control of the coaches in the league we made the move to outdoor spring football in the spring of 2014.    

 

We started with a team of 20 athletes ranging in age from 11-13.  Over the years since then we have established a camp that encompasses all available age ranges for the athletes to participate in.  We foster a family atmosphere where the older young men are set out to be an example for the younger athletes.  We follow a developmental philosophy that subscribes to taking all who want to play and teaching them the basics to as much advanced techniques and schemes as time will allow.  Our camp encourages participation and interaction from Parents to keep the lines of communication open for a more productive experience for athletes, coaches and parents.  ​

 

The Guard organization is dedicated to providing a safe environment for all participants.  We also try to defray costs by fundraising and seeking sponsors to assist in offsetting costs for the families that participate.
